Our Board

David Cottle, National Director and President of ICE, obtained his Geological Engineering degree in 1982.  He has since resided in Calgary, working in the petroleum industry in technical, supervisory, and managerial positions. His personal interest in cultural anthropology and work with First Nations representatives prompted him to help more Canadian children overcome illiteracy.

Michael Gintowt, Programme Consultant, obtained his M.A. in Behavioural Neurobiology.  A psychologist since 1989, he has focused on children and youth, working at the community level to initiate prevention and early intervention strategies. In 1996, he worked with First Nations people, providing therapeutic services, and enriching his experience with the aboriginal world view.  He entered the Public Service in 2001, as a supervisor for a Child and Youth Mental Health team.

Andrew Boden, Director and Vice-President of ICE, works as a researcher in the Development Office at Simon Fraser University. Mr. Boden is also an author who has published his stories and poems in Canada, the United States and India. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy.

Aubrey Davis, Director and Corporate Secretary of ICE, is a Toronto author and storyteller with a M.Ed. in Adult Education and Psychology. A featured teller at Canadian festivals and conferences, he’s told stories on national radio and television. He’s performed and conducted storytelling workshops in Canada and the US. A former teacher, he developed a program using storytelling to teach language to special needs and elementary students. His latest book, Bagels from Benny, won the Sydney Taylor Award, Canadian Jewish Book Award (childrens literature) and Mr. Christies Book Award (Silver).
